Parents at Saxon Children's Centre
Sure Start Children's Centres aim to deliver services that meet the demands and needs of it's local community.
Saxon Children's Centre is currently developing a 'Parents Forum': this is to give parents a voice, increase their active involvement in decision-making within the Centre and to promote the Children's Centre and bring about Change.
What can you do?
The Centre runs TERMLY Parents Forum Coffee Mornings. This is your chance to have your say and directly influence what the centre offers, helping us to recognise the needs of our local families.
How much time will this take?
The Forum takes around an hour, plus over the course of the term there may be some small volunteer work, for example promoting the centre, working with the centre staff or just simply speaking to other parents about what we do - and about what you enjoy doing at the centre!
What's in it for me?
Being part of a Forum is a great way to contribute towards your local community services without committing to a 'large' volunteer role. It can help you develop a wide range of skills from supporting new parents through to speaking to the Advisory Board at a more Strategic level - as little or as much as you would like to make of it really! It's also a great way to make new friends
